It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost exactly 2 years since we were shooting Super Sounds, and what a wonderful, validating and at times unexpected journey it’s been.
We set out to make a film that would appeal to a wide and diverse audience, that was simple and elegant in its telling and that was simple in its aim: to leave a smile on the face of the audience.
The wonderful reception that the film has had, has shown that we’ve achieved pretty much all of those goals.
As a rule, films have an average two year festival life. It’s not hard and fast, but films do tend to loose currency after two years and many festivals have a two year cut off. Given that, it does feel like we’re coming to the end of our festival run, but I say that with contentment and all expectations met.
So with that said, I thought it was timely that I offered a comprehensive round up of our festival run and awards won to date.
It all started at Giffoni in July 2014, and what a roaring premiere that was. We filmed to 1000+ passionate Italian kids at the worlds largest children’s film festival.
From there we went on to screen at another 20+ festivals in 15+ countries.
To simplify the telling, here’s the festival breakdown in chronological order:
Once again, it bares repeating that filmmaking is a collaborative effort and any success that this little film has attained is shared by all those involved in making it. So once more, from the bottom of heart, thank you to the beautiful and generous cast and crew who helped bring the vision to life and to the many thousands of people who have watched it the world over.
